 michael

Michael Chiasson was born in Houston, Texas where he began touring as a speaker and musician at the age of 14. Since then he has travelled extensively throughout North America and New Zealand, and spoken to thousands of people at hundreds of events.  A former youth minister and worship leader, Michael founded All Access Ministries to reach out to people with a message of encouragement and hope.  You can find out more about this Ministry at www.allaccessministries.org.

Michael and his wife Melissa have a young daughter and live in Calgary, Alberta.

This will be Michael's second appearance at our Family Conference - the first being in 2007 - and we are very excited to have him back with us!  Michael will be speaking to both teens and adults this year.

 Bishop Henry

Bishop Fredrick Henry was born April 11, 1943 and was ordained to the priesthood on May 25, 1968.  He holds an M.A. in Philosophy from the University of Notre Dame and a licentiate in theology from Gregorian University in Rome. From 1973-1986 he served as associate professor of Theology and Philosophy at St. Peter's Seminary. In 1986 he was appointed auxiliary bishop of London and titular bishop of Carinola, Italy. In 1995 he was installed as the fifth bishop of Thunder Bay, Ontario, and on March 19, 1998 he was installed as the seventh bishop of Calgary.

We were blessed to have Bishop Henry speak at our 3rd Family Conference in 2004, where his straight talk and spiritual insight were much appreciated.  This year he will be addressing the teens and adults as well as the children.

Leap Ministries is a Catholic ministry that commits to sharing the love that Christ continues to make real to us; through this love, we reach out to those around us by fostering in them a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.  They have led many retreats and worked with youth in many settings.  Their vision: Youth transformed through an encounter with Christ.

The LEAP team in 2007 did an outstanding job in leading our children's program, and they will be returning to that role at our conference this year.

You can follow them on Facebook or visit their website:http://leapministries.ca/index.html

This year marks the 10th anniversary of our first Catholic Family Conference - St. Joseph’s church in Vauxhall has hosted family conferences each winter since 2002. The goal is to inspire all members of the Catholic family to deepen their relationship with God and live out their faith.  The conferences are open to all who wish to attend.  Billeting and financial assistance is available for those in need.

There will be teen and adult speakers, worship music, family fun activities and fellowship time. Programming for children and preschoolers is provided as well.  Adoration, Confession, and Mass are central to the Family Conference weekend.

These conferences come about through the prayers and efforts of many volunteers, as well as through the support of Fr. Patrick, parish council, the Knights of Columbus, and the Ladies of St. Joseph.
